How to connect to a docking station with your laptop.


1. Disconnect your Virtual Desktop session by clicking on Start, log off. Once you are loged out of the virtual desktop then quit out of the VMWare Horizon Client. 

2. Connect the docking cable to a USB port on your laptop. Also connect the power cable for your
laptop.

3. Wait for the displays, keyboard and mouse to be detected

NOTE: If after 30 seconds the displays to not come on, try a different USB port and ensure the displays are powered on. If the displays are still not coming on, contact IT-Staff@ssyaf.org

4. Once the screens are detected the Screen Resolution window will appear. Your laptop is
display 1, the two screens are 2 and 3. Select the screen in the middle, and check the

“Make this my main display” box, and click Apply.

Note: If the Screen Resolution window does not appear automatically, click on the Start
Menu and just search for “Screen  Resolution”.

5. Select your laptop’s display (display 1), then change the “Multiple Displays” option to “Disconnect this display”, then click Apply

6. Click OK to complete display configuration. You can now close the lid on your laptop.
These settings will be remembered the next time you dock.

7. Connect up your virtual desktop session, but before selecting your desktop pool, use the
“Display” drop down to select “Multimonitor”, then click Connect.
