Papercut Training Guide

. Here’s how Papercut will change the way we print and copy by allocating print and copy costs more accurately, but also allow you to print easily and more securely to any copier in any SSYAF site –

Printing –
• Instead of printing to a specific copier queue (Melbourne, Kookaburra etc.), you’ll now print to a single queue named “FindMe”. Sending print jobs to the FindMe printer will allow you to release your print job from any SSYAF copier, at any location!
• Printing is now more secure, as your print job does not come out of a shared copier until you swipe your ID card at the copier, and release the job yourself. No more running to the copier to ensure no one else sees confidential documents by accident!
• Each time you print to an agency printer or copier (including desktop printers), you’ll be asked to cost allocate to your program or department, or whichever cost center is appropriate. This ensures we are allocating our print and copy costs to the correct program/department.

Copying –
• Each time you use a copier, you will need to swipe your ID card to identify yourself as the operator, and cost allocate your copying
• The interface to swipe your ID card at the copier and allocate to the cost center is different, but the interface to actually do the copy job, selecting paper size, number of copies etc. is exactly the same

Scanning –
• Each time you use a copier to scan documents, you will need to swipe your ID card to identify yourself as the operator, then follow the new on-screen interface to scan.
• Scanning to your email address or My Documents folder is available as a scanning destination as always, as is scanning to other common destinations such as TIER Scan and HR Docs.

The new interfaces are different, but they’re super intuitive, and we have created a guided, interactive walkthrough to show exactly what you’ll see, and what to do to use Papercut. This link is here, and I have attached for your convenience -
